To support the immune system, the Chinese and Indians also utilized an herbal regimen. The Ayurvedic herbalists of India utilized turmeric, along with other herbs, to support the immune system throughout the year. The Sushruta Samhita contains written text on the uses of more than 700 herbs and plants and 64 different mineral sources. Writings from China, such as the Shennong Ben Cao Jin that documents over 750 different herb and plants, also list the herbs that people use today to support their immune system throughout the year.
