All Cedar Bear Naturales™ (and its Divisions/Units) products are FDA cGMP compliant and HACCP compliant. We were the first poly-constituent based liquid herbal products company in the United States to implement and list being cGMP/HACCP compliant.
As of 2007 all GMP standards in the dietary, nutritional and herbal products industry must comply with the FDA's published cGMP rule. Prior to 2007 the dietary, nutritional and herbal products industry GMP standards were not ruled upon or regulated by FDA. There were a number of independent trade organizations that certified for a GMP standard, however, GMP's were not 'standard' (i.e. standardized to a single standard) on an industry-wide basis until the FDA published their rule on cGMP policy in early 2007. Cedar Bear Natruales™ was found to be in full compliance with the FDA's cGMP rule when it was published. It has been cGMP compliant since 2000, and prior to that was steadily moving towards that standard since its inception. Cedar Bear Naturales, Inc. new facility and operations meet all these standards.
A HACCP standard is much more involved than a cGMP standard, especially where documentation and Quality Assurance tracking is concerned. Cedar Bear Naturales™ HACCP standard underlies and expands upon its FDA cGMP compliant standard. Where a cGMP standard largely deals with Quality Control issues, a HACCP standard deals with Quality Assurance issues, hence the underlying and expanding nature of a HACCP compliant standard.
Cedar Bear Naturales, Inc. cGMP/HACCP standard includes but is not limited to extensive documentation for both quality control and quality assurance issues that includes tracking potential vectors of contamination at all points in a products making – from ordering of an ingredient to recieval and inventorying into quarantine, to preparing for processing through all processing and manufacturing steps, to bottling/packaging and inventorying of finished bulk fluid extracts to blending for formulas, to bottling/tamper proof sealing/labeling to inventorying into finished/labeled stock, to accurate order fulfillment to final packaging and shipping of products out the door to a wholesaler, retailer, account or retail customer. Our highly developed organoleptic testing and analysis protocols are also an extensive part of this cGMP/HACCP standard. It is why Cedar Bear Naturales, Inc. margin for error is one of the lowest in the industry.
A HACCP standard is not a static thing that once completed is finished, but is an evolving standard that is adjusted, fine tuned and even changed to meet a company's operations growth and stringent internationally accepted safety and purity standards that are updated periodically. Cedar Bear Naturales™ HACCP compliant standard is intended to segue into an ISO 9000–9001 compliant standard and aspects of an ISO 14000–14001 compliant standard, and in fact is currently compliant with many ISO standards.
