Cedar Bear Naturales (CBN™) and its departments are a Ratio-Intact poly-constituent based endeavor. This means CBN™ proprietary processing technologies were developed to extract all of a botanical's constituents and compounds in their intrinsic complex ratio-intact state, thereby sustaining the naturally occurring synergy that only a poly-constituent extracted product can result in, only more concentrated and potent.
Rigorous scientific research originating out of Japan shows that the 'synergy' aspect of poly-constituent based approaches holds greater promise than non-synergistic mono-constituent based (i.e. 'Standardized') approaches do where both safety and viable biological efficacy are concerned. This means that the unsubstantiated assumptions and rampant misinformation of the 'Standardized' botanical extracts segment of the herbal products industry can now be effectively questioned. CBN™'s years of literary, scientific, clinical and developmental research agrees with the Japanese studies concerning a poly-constituent approach holding greater promise and potential than mono-constituent approaches, as relates to botanical extracts and their intrinsic synergy where potency and efficacy are concerned.
Cedar Bear Naturales™ extensive research has also shown that there is a profound intrinsic denaturing and inert rendering effect imparted to Standardized mono-constituent based botanical extracts, thereby bringing any claims of efficacy into question. If extracted with alcohol, many constituents (especially complex aromatics, polysaccharides and many enzymes and vitamins/co-factors) are denatured and rendered biologically inert, and if processed with toxic solvents or gasses (as most Standardized products in the marketplace are) the same denaturing and inert rendering effects takes place, along with these extracts always containing residual amounts of the toxic solvents and gasses used in their extraction.
There has been an erroneous attempt by some in the herbal products industry to ally the term 'synergy' with 'Standardized.' It is not possible for Standardized botanical extracts to possess 'synergy' as the basis of a mono-constituent based approach is the antithesis of synergy. This concept of 'synergy' as it relates to botanicals, processing/extractive technologies, etc., is only now being viewed with greater scrutiny and scientific clarity, and it does not comport to or support the Standardized extracts premise.
Further, Standardized botanical extracts lack the evidence of actual science and clinical based studies for assuming and claiming that a Standardized botanical extract will have the same or similar actual efficacy standard as their synthetic chemical drug cousins do. The science just doesn't support this assumption. It is this latter point that is the Achilles heel of the Standardized botanical extracts industry and why our poly-constituent based botanical derived products are sought after as both stand-alone finished products and ingredients in other companies products.
